on sound

Silence is not the opposite of sound and is actually an impossibility. Silence is louder.
Sound is a layer that I prioritize in my work. It is conjuring, always manipulative. I am always victim, but a smart one. I know better, but I'm addicted and keep coming back.
Sound does not exist in a vacuum. It needs space. to fill, to reflect upon, to be captured by. It is liquid in its nature, spilling over and saturating areas you want desperately to remain dry.
I've always wondered what does sound hold? A meaning? An expression? Simple circumstance or outcome? When reflected upon the idea of memory, sound gets even more complex. I remember the sound of my father's feet walking up the stairs, his pacing was always consistent, and his knees cracking as he ascended up to my room.
Is sound just pure reaction? Birthed from 'maestros' of all sizes?

Sound accompanies all that exists. Or rather follows it with its own propagation speed.
Noise is inevitable. You're noisy because you are.

Sound is the permanent background that we ignore, going through us, made of frequencies that we can catch, and of others that we never will.
What defines sound is attention/awareness.

Sound : deep water in which one can dive.

Life starts with a beat.
You don’t need subtitles for a silent movie/piece.
We cannot listen to 10 hearts beating but one.
Sounds, just like food, are becoming more and more artificial.
Silence can be more frightening than any roaring sound.

Sound doesn't need You to exist. You are the one who needs to find it!
Sound indicates the presence of a body, its friction with the surroundings or other bodies.
Get closer to things and listen. Through sound you will find a secret life in them.
Let your body be your ears, let sound go through, let sound travel within.

There is no such thing as no sound. Sound is so present that we stop being aware of it.
We all sneeze, but we sound different.
Though immaterial, sound fills emptiness.
Bodies are resonance boxes in which the exterior meets the interior.

Sound is the fastest penetrator.
Imagine ten sounds of things with No Sound. What is the sound of Facebook???
Look at an object. Imagine all the sounds that were created in the process of making it.

The Image is much richer with No Sound. Sound is much richer with No Image.
Listen to the sound of the Presence of the other.
Think about the sound of your mother. Think about the sound of your father. How did their sound shaped to your own sound?

It's subtle and makes you open up other senses and ways of perceiving the environment. Sound is an operator, a catalyser.
Never forget it has a content in itself, even if it's composed "out of nothing". Nothing doesn't exist in its totality. Sound is everywhere. Find your own database.
Pay attention, tune in, listen deeply before you hear. Take "hearing" as an already activated state by what you capture.
First tendency is to fill up the room. Think of transforming all the possibilities into the absence of it. Acknowledge all the other existing realities before you compose what you are aiming for.
Sound gives and takes space. it's a tool to be worked with the same weight as any other material present in your work. It establishes temporality and depth. Sound is a language form.

One should be aware of  its presence  and how it is to be delivered.
Sound is taken for granted just like breathing, if we stop breathing our heart beats faster; if we shut our ears, what we hear the most is the sound our heart; what was the first sound you've heard in your existence?
Sound is everywhere, silence is just an idea, therefore sound is also just an idea, why the need to define both?
Sound can change immediately the perception of time.

Absence of sound is Non-existence.
Sound without space could be silence

Sound is vibration, we don't experience it only through the ears, but through all the cells of our body vibrating
We cannot escape sound, silence is a fantasy
I don't often remember in sound.
Sound can transport us

Humans built a plane that travels faster than sound - Concorde. What happened to people having a conversation on Concorde flying faster than the speed of sound? Did they experience a live time delay between the movement of the mouth and the sound coming from the mouth?
